Paul Keinarth

Paul Keinarth, MD, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin’s Plan II Honors program and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio’s Medical School. He completed his internship and Residency in Family Medicine in the graduate medical education program at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, and has been in private practice in Austin continuously since completing his medical training in 1990. Since that time he has served as Chief of Family Medicine in a local hospital system, and has been repeatedly selected by his peers as one of the “Best Doctors in Austin”. As published in Austin Monthly magazine’s biannual doctor’s poll, Paul has received this honor since 2002. Named by Texas Monthly Magazine as one of their “SuperDocs for 2011, 2012 and 2013.”

Paul served as the Medical Consultant and an Advisory Board Member for The Crossings of Austin and has previously served as Medical Consultant for the Samaritan Center for Counseling in Austin, Texas. In his private life, he enjoys music through listening, composing and playing the piano, which has provided therapeutic benefits for him and for those around him, since he was six years old. In addition, he writes lyrics and poetry, studies philosophy, spirituality, complementary and alternative medicine and the science of stress management. A co-founder of the Stress Reduction Clinic, he also teaches meditation and offers lectures in other community venues. Paul and his wife Mary have one daughter and one son.

Sharyn Reynolds

Sharyn Reynolds is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and The Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She brings to her work at the Stress Reduction Clinic a wide range of professional experience as educator, social worker, manager, pastor, Hospice chaplain and therapist. Sharyn was ordained by the Presbyterian Church USA and served in congregational ministry at University Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas for ten years. She was on the clinical staff of the Samaritan Center for sixteen years.

A founding member of Weavings Wellness Group in Austin, her practice addresses a variety of mental health and spiritual issues in addition to emotional and stress management. She is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. In addition she has a Certificate in Spiritual Direction and is a member of Spiritual Directors International.

A co-founder of the Stress Reduction Clinic, Sharyn and her husband Gary have two adult sons. Her chosen forms of recreation include reading fiction, scrap-booking, listening to music, attending live theatre and sharing good conversation with close friends and family. She has been growing her meditation practice since l971. Her practice has been deepened by receiving training and serving as an instructor in individual, group and retreat settings, where meditation is presented and practiced out of both medical and spiritual models.
